SiteRescueBot
You are probably here because you found SiteRescueBot/1.0 in your server logs. It is our scanner. Someone asked us to test a website — usually their own — and we visited it the way an ordinary visitor would.
What it does
- Loads the page in a real browser and measures how it renders and how long it takes.
- Follows the links on the page to find ones that go nowhere.
- Reads the page’s own markup — title, description, social tags, favicon.
- Asks three public DNS resolvers where the domain points, and checks the SSL certificate.
- Sends one message through a contact form, clearly marked as an automated test. It never touches a form containing a password, card number or similar field, never more than one form per scan, and — unless the site’s owner has proved it’s theirs — no more than once a week.
What it never does
- Attempt to log in, or try any credential.
- Defeat a CAPTCHA or any other bot protection. If one is present, we say so and move on — we never try to get past it.
- Crawl your whole site. We look at the page we were given.
- Sell, share or publish anything we find. The report goes to whoever asked for it.
Making it stop
Add this to your robots.txt and we will not come back:

Can’t edit that file? Email hello@siterescue.app with the address that was tested and a person will stop it — same day.
